Harajuku is the area around Harjuku station,in Tokio,Japan.















But it is not just a city, in fact it’s also a style or better say a mesh of many.























Harajuku style began in 1964 when the summer Olympics came to Tokyo. The young people wanted to impress the visitors dressing up in this way.

















This fashion infuses multiple looks and styles to create a unique form of dress.

Between harajuku’s substyle I prefere the Lolita one.























Lolita fashion is a fashion subculture originating in Japan that is based on Victorian-era clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period,its aim is to imitate the look of victorian porcelain dolls.


















There are different kind of Lolita:


-gothic Lolita:







dark make-up and clothing.Red lipstick and smokey or neatly defined eyes, created using black eyeliner.Dark color schemes including black, dark blues and purples, although black and white remains popular.Cross jewelry, religious symbols, bags and purses in shapes like bats, coffins, and crucifixes.









-sweet Lolita:






Influenced by Rococo,Victorian and Edwardian clothing,child and fantasy.
Pink, Peach, or Pearl make up.Bright pink, red or nude-pink lipstick.
Pastels, fruit themes, flowers and ribbons clothing.
Bags and purses a princess-like design or shape of strawberries, crowns, hearts, and stuffed animals.







-classic Lolita:







mature style of Lolita,influenced by Rococo, Regency, and Victorian styles.
it is not as dark Lolita, but not as cutesy as sweet Lolita.more sophisticated, mature.
More muted version of the sweet Lolita makeup, with natural colouring.






-punk Lolita:









tattered fabric, ties, safety pins and chains, screen-printed fabrics, plaids, and short,androgynous hairstyles.Use of blouses or cutsews and skirts,dresses jumper skirts and boots.











-princess Lolita:





princess-style look of European aristocratic.Use of tiara and a rococo style bustle back skirt.











-shiro and kuro Lolita:









Shiro=White=outfit in white/cream/off-white.
Kuro =Black=outfit in black.
Shiro and Kuro Lolita can be taken from any style of Lolita, whether it be Gothic, Sweet, or Classic.









-prince Lolita:








Male version of Lolita .Use of blouses and shirts, knickerbockers and other styles of short trousers, knee high socks, top hats, and newsboy caps. The colors usually used are black, white, blue and burgundy.









-guro Lolita:






Mean'broken doll".Use of fake blood, make-up, and bandages to give the appearance of injury.White clothing to contrast with the redness of blood.













-sailor Lolita:







Use of sailor collars and ties, sailor hats, and stripes.














-country Lolita:







Use of straw baskets, hats, fruit, and gingham patterns.










-Wa Lolita:








Traditional Japanese clothing styles with the Lolita fashion,kimono or hakama modified to fit Lolita style.











QI Lolita:









Chinese clothing and accessories like qipao dresses modified into Lolita style,with use of platform-slippers and bun-covers as hair accessories.












Casual Lolita:








It's about simplicity,any colours can be used.The important it's to match styles, colours and prints in a modest and elegant way.
